Mechanical Conveying Automatically Discharges Batches

Mechanical Conveying Automatically Discharges Batches

Sterling Systems & Controls, Inc. is pleased to announce the use of a Mechanical Conveying system to automatically discharge and move batched ingredients through to the blending and mixing process.  The ingredients are batched using a micro/bulk tote ingredient batching system with mechanical conveying attached and receiving ingredients from the ingredient systems’ multiple weigh scale hoppers.  Overall, this is a highly customized ingredient batching system with both dry and liquid materials.

These systems typically include the custom mechanical conveying, supply bins, feeders, work platforms, automatic or manual bin refilling, liquid tank/pump skid equipment (if liquids are included) and the automatic control system. Optional equipment may include raw material bag lift handling equipment, dust collection/control for any very dusty dry materials, lot tracking and traceability, as well as barcode and RFID scanning. Other customized options can also be included.

The mechanical drag conveying system further optimizes overall system efficiency and reduced costs.  The mechanical conveyor is custom engineered with inlets from multiple points where ingredient materials are directly received from weigh scale hoppers.  The dry ingredient materials are then transported by the mechanical drag conveyor directly downstream to mixing.

Sterling Systems & Controls offers custom engineered mechanical drag conveyors for use in automatic ingredient dry material material weighing systems with micro, minor and bulk weighments. Typically screw/auger and vibratory type feeders are used to feed the dry materials from the storage supply bins into the weigh scale hoppers. The type of feeder used is based upon what the best solution will be for the specific application, including system weighing accuracy required.

Sterling Systems & Controls, Inc. has fifty (50) years of experience providing mechanical conveying solutions in it’s micro and minor ingredient batching systems for automatic delivery of batched ingredients. Sterling Systems uses the latest technology to provide specialized data management, raw material management, along with production data tracking.  For more information contact Sterling Systems & Controls at 1-815-625-0852 sci@sterlingcontrols.com, and at www.sterlingcontrols.com.
